I was looking at my blog and thought, can this be any blacker? None. None blacker. So I lightened it up and threw in my favorite color, hot pink!

Also, I have made some very special new friendships with people this year, beyond those I have mentioned who have helped me in some way, but are just plain awesome. They have been huge highlights of 2009.

What do I want to do in the next year? More! While my talents are many, I particularly excel at two things: BDSM and writing. I need to do more that incorporates these two talents. I want to become a more seriously recognized blogger, but also I really want to submit erotica for anthologies, etc. There are a couple other ideas that I have regarding this that will be revealed in due time, but basically, I want to go national, international, galactic. I'm too big for this planet.

For now you can continue to enjoy me on this corner of the internet, but soon I hope to be peeking out at you from so many other places.

During this time away from Los Angeles, I have been trying to take some time for myself away from the fun and sexy distractions and catch up on some reading. Beyond my usual favorites of poetry and literature, I decided to take a look at my blogroll, which has undergone very little change since I first created it about a year ago. I have so many books piled up around my bed, sexy and otherwise and now I have a roll of sexy blogs to catch up on too! I'm happy to say I can call Jenny DeMilo, Mistress Erin, and Ryan St. Germain my friends.

Completely new to my list are: aag, Longing's End, Sugarbutch Chronicles, Coquitten and Walking Vixen.

I even included some naughty boys: dirty boy and Natt Nightly.

All the people on my list actively update their blogs with content that will make you wet and make you think, something I try to do with my blog.

As usual, my blog is a work in progess. I am a writer and there are so many things I would like to write about, but they do not always seem appropriate here. Although the more I explore the internets, the more I see a league of awesome, well-written sex worker blogs. I'm proud to be part of this emerging elite crew that goes beyond idiotic drivel and smut but on to real issues and some seriously hot erotica.

And Happy Birthday to my blog, it is now one year old.

Looking back, I like the way it has evolved with me as I made the transition from dungeon to independence; I've been reading other important Mistress/sex worker blogs, writing reviews of movies/books/clubs and some of my own fantasies. The last year has seen me through a lot of positive changes and growth, both in my professional and personal life.

At heart I am a writer. I am published in the vanilla, hard copy world. I love that my blog can combine my two favorite things: writing and kink. In the next year, I'm going forward with renewed focus. I will be writing more about my fantasies, as I discover more about what makes me tick as I meet new people and deepen the relationship with my play partner. I will continue to write about good times in the kinky world and with my reviews.

I've been meaning to do this for a long time. There are so many other talented writers in the sex industry, I enjoy reading what they have to say. Oh, the internet. It controls the way I market myself as a pro-domme as it does for most other people involved in the industry. I can't imagine what it was like before! For better or for worse, I feel lucky that I can be exposed to the thoughts and playing styles of so many different people in the industry. I admire them and unfortunately do not read them enough or even know about many blogs that I should be reading. So today I listed many blogs of note, some are pretty well known, some I have read, and others I want to read. I expect to make edits and additions as I spend even more time on my computer doing kinky things.

On a side note, a lot of people have mentioned the Showtime show, Secret Diary of a Call Girl based on the blog of Belle du Jour. (Name taken from a rather unexciting movie about a housewife turned prostitute.) I haven't seen it, but heard she got some lessons from a Domme ;) How is it?
